Any items that are supposed to be used on a patient must be sterilised. The Sterilisation feature allows users to track what items were sterilised, on what date, in which batch, when, and by whom. First, practices need to set up devices and configurations for this feature.

- Navigate to the System Menu > Sterilisation.
- Select the Devices & Configuration tab.

Add Sterilisers
Sterilisers are devices used to sterilise dental instruments to ensure the safety and hygiene of the patient.
To add a steriliser to the system,
- Choose the Location to add the steriliser to.
- Select the Sterilisers sub tab.
- Click +Add Steriliser.
Enter the following details on the Add Steriliser popup.
- Name: Enter the name of the steriliser.
- Serial Number: Enter the serial number to track the steriliser.
- Model: Enter the model number of the steriliser.
- Manufacturer: Enter the manufacturer's name.

Label Setting: There are two settings for labels.
- You can set a Unique label number for each item. Or,
- Choose a Common serial number for all items.
- Notes: Add any notes if needed.
- Click Save Steriliser.
- A steriliser can be deleted if it is not linked to any cycle.
- You can edit it using the pencil icon.
- Click Deactivate to deactivate a steriliser if needed.
Add Items
An item may be a single instrument or a pack of instruments intended for use on a patient during treatment. For example, A Filling Kit is an item that includes multiple instruments like carvers, probes, etc. Whereas a handpiece would be a single item.
To add an item,
- Choose the Location to add the item to.
- Select the Items sub tab.
- Click +Add Item.
- Enter the Item Name.
- Add any Notes if needed.
- Click Save Item to save the item.
- Alternatively, you can click Save & Add New Item to add multiple items in a row.
- To deactivate an item from a cycle, click Deactivate.
- To edit an existing item, click on the pencil icon.
Add Cycle Types
You can create and manage various cycle types for different sterilisers.
To add a cycle type,
- Choose the Location to add the cycle type to.
- Select the Cycle Type sub tab.
- Click +Add Cycle Type.
- Enter the Type Name.
- Set an Expiry Timeline in Days, Months, or Years.
| Note: The expiry timeline set here will be reflected when you select the same cycle type in a cycle. |
- Click Save Cycle Type to save the item.
- Alternatively, you can click Save & Add New Cycle Type to add multiple items in a row.
- To deactivate a linked cycle type, click Deactivate.
- To activate a disabled cycle type, click on the Activate button on the relevant line item.
- To edit an existing cycle type, click on the pencil icon.
