A referral provider is an external clinician who either receives patient referrals from your practice or refers patients to your practice for care. Adding a referral provider into the system is vital if you have a referral network, as it helps you manage both outgoing referrals to other providers and incoming referrals from providers who send patients to your practice. This also enables you to track analytics, such as which referral providers contribute the most patients.

Add a New Referral Provider
To add a referral provider, perform the steps below.
- Click System Menu > select Referral Providers under Operations.
Here you can view all the referral providers in your system.
- Click + Add New Referral.
- Enter the Referral Provider's Email.
- Click Next.
Tip: To continue without an email, click Continue without Email. However, an email ID is necessary to receive a notification. Adding the email address of the referral provider will allow you to share referral documents online through our secure referral portal. |
- Enter the mandatory details.
- Name: Select Prefix and enter First Name and Last Name.
- Location: Select all the locations for the referral provider.
- You can enter additional optional information such as Date of Birth, Gender, Specialty, Phone Number, Mobile, Address, etc.
- To add a custom referral provider specialty, click + Add Ref. Provider Specialty.
- Once a custom specialty is added, click on the pencil icon to make any changes.
- Click Save.
- You will receive a toast notification stating 'Referral provider added successfully'.
- The referral provider will receive a welcome mail on the given email ID.
- They can click on the Website Login link to access the Referral Portal.
- The receiving referral provider will need to create a new password and log in.
- Once logged in, the referral portal displays all the referred patients.
Manage Permissions

To enable Permissions for Referral Providers,
Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Administration > Profiles.
Click Manage Permissions for the intended profile.
- Select Referrals.
- Under Referral Providers, select the View Referral Providers, Add/Edit Referral Providers, and Add/Edit Referral Provider Specialty boxes to permissions as needed.
- Click Save.
On the Confirm Action modal that appears, click Yes to proceed.
A toast notification appears on the top right stating, 'Profile updated successfully'.
