Users can pre-set templates of clinical narratives within Practice Settings as well as have the ability to pull up a list, select the intended narrative, and incorporate it within CareNotes.
The Smart Phrases feature aids practices in quickly setting up narratives that aptly describe patient-specific dental problems and procedures. Enabling this feature within the system lets users create and save a stock of easy-to-use, built-in narrative templates.

To set up a smart phrase, perform the steps below.
- Navigate to the System Menu > Practice Settings > Clinical > Care Notes.
- Select the Smart Phrases tab.
- Click +Add New.
- Enter the Keyword for the smart phrase to appear.
- Choose if you want the smart phrase to be Tagged to a Location.
- If yes, select the Location.
- Enter the content for the smart phrase on the Text Editor.
- Click Save.
To use the narrative saved:
- Select a patient using the Global Search Bar.
- Navigate to Clinical > Chart.
- Click +Note.
- Click Use Template.
- Select a Template.
- Click Add Note.

- Enter the '+' symbol on the Responses text field.
- Browse through the Smart Phrases menu and select the desired narrative.
- The pre-built narrative will get populated.
- Click Finalize.
Note: To view and select narratives from the Smart Phrases menu, make sure they are enabled for that location. |
