It is up to your practice to decide when you would like your Care Notes to be triggered for a patient. To modify when Care Notes are triggered, you can make changes in your Practice Settings. Here is how to get that done quickly.

Perform the steps below.
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Clinical > Care Notes.
Under the Templates tab:
- Choose the desired Note from the list on the left.
- Navigate to the top and select the Linked Item tab.
- Click Link Item.
- In the Link Item modal, select the Code.
- Choose the option to update the Triggering Status.
- You can select when the Note will be triggered for the Patient.
- Your choices represent when that code will trigger the note, whether the code is Planned, set as Existing or Completed.
- Click Save.
