The Global Search Bar is found at the top-left of the CareStack screen and is used to search the desired patient record at any of your practice's locations.

To search the desired patient profile, perform the following steps:
- Search for the patient using the Global Search Bar.
- Select the intended patient from the results shown.
| Note: You can only view patients of the same location as yours unless you are a Super Admin. |
Verify you have the correct patient by reviewing their listed information.
- You can also search by Patient ID, or by typing a portion of the first and last name (separated by a comma).
- Alternatively, you can search the patient using their phone number.
- Users can search using phone numbers exactly as they appear, including those starting with ‘0’, and the system will return the correct results.
- Select one of the shortcuts for speedy access to that part of the patient's records. The shortcuts available to you are:
- Add Appt (Add Appointment): Clicking this shortcut will take you to the Scheduler with your patient selected, making scheduling quick and easy.
- Add Clipboard: Clicking this button allows users to select treatment codes or appointments and save them temporarily in a clipboard queue.
- Overview: As the name suggests, this shortcut takes you to the patient's overview page.
- Payment: This link corresponds with the patient's payment screen, where you can view open balances, unapplied credits, or reverse and refund transactions as needed.
- Forms: This link will allow you to access the patient's medical history records or start a new one.
- Documents: View or print any of the patient's saved documents, including forms, letters, or any other documents you have saved here.
- Chart: Use this link for quick access to the patient's dental chart.
- Tx Plan (Treatment Plan): This link will take you to the patient's advanced planner for treatment planning.
- Perio: Use this link to access the patient's perio chart.
- Account Summary: Use this link to get an in-depth view of the invoices
- Appointments: View current, past, and future appointments.
- Click on the Global Search Bar to view Recent Patients.
- You can see the most recent patient profiles you have visited.
- You can also view all patients in one place by clicking All Patients Page.
