Performance
In the previous section, you saw the breakdown of daily stats. In the Performance section, you can view the stats on a monthly/quarterly/yearly or for 30 days by clicking on the related tabs displayed as MTD/QTD/YTD/Last 30 Days at the top left.
Navigate to the Performance tab and click on it to view the Gross Production, Patient Collection, Active Patient Overview and Patients Visits metrics. The respective sections cover the overall stats related to the practice's in-house production, patient payments, scheduled active/inactive patient overview, and visits.
Note: If you would like to download the stats of the Key Performance Indicators provided via the Performance section, then navigate to the top right and select Download All KPIs as CSV to have them downloaded as CSV files. These can be viewed in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers on a Mac. |
Let's check out what each of these sections reflects to its users. All of the stats refer to the selected date range and location with the exclusion of Migrated Balances (MSB).
| Gross Production | The total amount (Gross Production) produced from completed procedures versus (vs) Total Production Goal. Also presents In-House Dentist / Hygienist Production vs Total Production Goal. This segment is further supported by a graphical representation of the practice's production trend. |
| Patient Collection |
Over the Counter (OTC) payments collected in the office from patients on date of service for the portion they have to pay vs Total Production Goal. Patient Expected: Payment amount expected from patients for the completed procedures of the day. This segment is further supported by a graphical representation of the practice's OTC Collection Trend. |
| Active Patient Overview |
Total Active Patients: Number of active patients. (This includes patients not set as inactive in CareStack.) Note: The stats reflect active patients whose default location is the selected location. |
| Patient Visits |
Total Visits: Number of new/existing patients who had an appointment checked out or had a treatment completed in the selected date range. New Patient Visits: Same as above but only for new patients. Hygiene Visits: Number of patients who had a hygiene code completed for the selected date range. |
Planner
Access CareStack's Planner to quickly track the stats on your practice's monthly production goals.
- On the Front Office Dashboard, select Planner tab on the top left.
You can select:
- Preferred Location that differs from the default.
- Current and Coming Year.
- You can select from the current month onwards within the current year.
- You can select any of the twelve months in the upcoming year.
The KPIs on your Planner for the selected location include:
- Gross Production displays the total dollar value from completed procedures (including fee updates and deletions) on the transaction date of code completion.
- Scheduled till End of the Month shows the total dollar value from scheduled procedures for the current and future dates of the month.
- Expected Production presents the total dollar value from completed procedures (including fee updates and deletions) and scheduled procedures for the month.

The monthly provider goals that are created in the system are reflected in the practice's Monthly Production Planner.
Huddle
- The Huddle provides a quick snapshot of the practice's performance in three segments, highlighting the day before, the current day, and the pending for the next day.
- This page also offers the ability to switch to Show consecutive days (the non-working days will be skipped as set up in location settings). Users can turn this on by selecting it at the top right.
- Click on the Print Huddle Report at the top right if you want a paper-based detailed report.
Production Goals
- Production Goals comprise both Location and Provider Goals, which you can view for the Month/Year by clicking the Year View/Month View at the top left for the selected location.
- Gross Production represents the cumulative gross production for the year, which typically includes the Location Goal, Provider Goal, Planned Working Hours, and Avg. Production Goal per Hour in the selected year for the selected location.
The grid that you see in the screenshot summarises the status of goals for months. In it you will see:
- Each Month and Quarter is summarised with the Total at the bottom.
- The Month Status shows if the goals for that month were met or not.
- You can show Gross Production, Location Goal, Provider Goal, and Provider Working Hours.
- Deselecting one will remove the entire column from the display.
- Under the Action tab, click to see a specific goal via the View Monthly Goal.
