Users can pre-set answers to the main clinical assessment question(s) within the CareNotes so that the desired option for the questions grouped under it shall be automatically selected.

To have this setup, perform the steps below.
- Navigate to the System Menu > Practice Settings > Clinical > Care Notes.
How to Create a New Template
- Select the Templates tab.
- Click + Add New Clinical Template.
- Enter the Template Name, select Template Categories and other details.
- From the Add Responses box on the right-hand side, choose the required responses.
- These selections will appear as questions within the Care Notes.
- Click Save.
How to Create Smart Answers
- Select the Templates tab.
- Select a saved template from the left.
- Select Field/Form Rules > click on the Field Rules tab.
- Click +Add New Rule to start creating Smart Answers.
| Note: Upon selecting the + Add New Rule button, you are utilising the IF function to return the expected Smart Answer by choosing the condition IS (True) or IS NOT (False). |
- Select the Primary Question from the dropdown.
Choose the IS (True) or IS NOT (False) from the dropdown option to set the condition for retrieving the Smart Answer once the primary question along with its main choice has been selected.
- Select Duration. For example, select the main choice for Nitrous being 10 minutes.
- Navigate to the SKIP option right below.
- Click on it to view and select the SMART ANSWER option.
- Select Amount from the dropdown options.
| Tip: If a response has been set as default, it will not override. You will need to make the decision to keep that answer or deselect the checkbox. |
- Click Save to have the rules updated successfully.
| Note: To continue setting up Smart Answers, select + Add New Rule. |
Note: The previously populated answers will stay even if you change the answer for your IF condition. You will have to manually uncheck the previous answer. In other words, if ever you set a rule but your choice for the primary question is different, you will need to manually change the answer by simply selecting the appropriate choice and deselecting the initial choice previously auto-selected. |
