When staff are short on time, efficient appointment management is critical. The reschedule queue is designed to help streamline this process, allowing you to easily modify your existing appointments. To reschedule an appointment from the Reschedule Queue, perform the following steps.

- Navigate to Dashboard > select Lists > Reschedule Queue.
Book an Appointment from Reschedule Queue
To book an appointment from the Reschedule Queue:

Select the desired item from the list.
- Click Book Appt.
- You will be directed to the Scheduler where you can decide the time slot for the appointment.
- Once the time is decided, drag onto the scheduler slots to select the time duration of the appointment for the selected patient.
- Once the desired option is selected, the Appointment Slide-out will be displayed.
- Verify the details and click Save when you are ready to proceed.
Manage Reschedule Queue
On the Reschedule page, you can view all the rescheduled items. To narrow down the rescheduled items, utilise the following filters.
- Patient: The name of the patient whose appointment was added to the rescheduled queue.

Appt. Date & Time: The date and time of the rescheduled appointment.
- Click on the sort icon to sort the items in newest to oldest or oldest to newest order.
- Provider: The provider selected for the appointment.
- Location: Location of the rescheduled appointment.
- Operatory: The operatory of the rescheduled appointment.
- Production Type: The production type of rescheduled appointment.
- Status: Choose No Show or Cancelled status to filter the relevant patient appointments in the queue.
- Reason: Displaying the reason for cancelling the appointment, whether it is by the Patient or Practice.
- Future Appointment: Filter the list by patients with or without a future appointment.
To take a printout of the reschedule queue:
- Click Print.
- The printout will be generated with the information displayed in the same order with the applied filter and sort criteria.
- Here, you can view the Status and Reason for the appointments in the Reschedule Queue.
To clear the reschedule queue of all the items:
- Click Clear Queue.
Note: If the clear queue permission is not enabled, users will not have access to the option to clear the queue on the Scheduling List for the Reschedule Queue. Click here to learn more. |
- Click Clear Queue on the confirmation popup.
To download the Reschedule Queue grid:
- Click Download and select PDF or CSV as needed.
Other actions on the reschedule queue include the following:
- Delete: Select the required item(s) and click Delete.

Send Message: Select the required item(s) and click Send Message.
- Choose if you want to communicate with the patient via Text or Email.
Once you have selected Text or Email to send a message to the patient,
- You can enter the message from scratch. Or,
- Select a saved template from the left.
- To change the name of the template, click on the pencil icon.
- Click Delete to remove the text or email template.
- Once done, you can update the existing template or save as a new one.
- To save the current changes to the existing template, click the Save drop-down and select Save Changes.
- To save as a new template, select Save as New option.
- Click Send Email or Send Text.

- Find Slot: Click this option to find a slot for the rescheduled item
- Go to Chart: Click this option to navigate to the patient's chart.
- Send Text: Click this option to send a text message.
- Send Email: Click this option to send a email.
- Delete: Click this option to delete the line item.
Enable Permissions to Clear Reschedule Queue
Here is what you need to do, if you would like to use permissions to clear the queue.
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Administration > Profiles.
- Click on the appropriate profile to select Manage Permissions.
- Select Scheduling.
- Checkmark the Ability to Clear Queue permission under Lists to set it as active.
