Booking an appointment for an existing patient is an essential process in healthcare that ensures continuity of care and support for the patient’s ongoing treatment needs. This guide will walk you through the key steps and best practices for scheduling appointments efficiently and effectively.

To schedule an appointment for an existing patient, perform the following steps.
- Navigate to the Scheduler.

Click and drag on the preferred open slot in the scheduler.
- This action will bring up your Appointment slide-out.
- Select the intended Patient from the Search Patient drop-down.
| Note: You can only view patients of the same location as yours unless you are a Super Admin. |
Within the Appointment Details section, the Production Type, Start and End Times, etc. will be automatically set based on the operatory configuration.

Select the Provider.
- On the Provider drop-down menu, the Operatory and Non Operatory Providers will be displayed separately.
- To add another provider, click +Add Provider.
| Note: Only the providers tagged to this operatory would be shown as Operatory Providers. |
Note: When selecting a Provider, you will find all inactive providers listed at the bottom and cannot be chosen. |

Scroll down on the Appointment Details section and select a suitable Clinical Case, as per the requirement.
- To add a new case, click +Add Case.

Set the Appt. Mode (Appointment Mode) as needed.
- If the appointment has to take place in the clinic, select In Office.
- If the appointment has to take place via telephone, select Tele Appointment.
- If the appointment has to take place in an external facility, select In Facility. Click here to learn more.
- To add treatment codes, click Add Code(s).
- Select Book Appointment which will secure the appointment slot.
