Configure Odontogram Settings

To update the odontogram status settings, perform the steps below.
- Navigate to the System Menu > select Practice Settings > Clinical > Odontogram Settings.
- Here you can view the odontogram statuses listed in chronological order.
Tip: Each status will have a particular colour to distinguish it from others. Transparency is another feature of the odontogram status which allows the user to see multiple treatment types on a single tooth. |
- Click Edit to configure the status settings.
- You can change the Colour for any status as needed.
- To enable or disable Transparency for any status type, click on the Toggle button for the intended item.
- Click Save to update the changes.
View Treatments & Conditions on Odontogram

You can view multiple layers of treatments and conditions on a single tooth. To utilise the information on the Odontogram, perform the steps below.
- Select the patient using the Global Search bar > hover over Clinical > select Chart.
- Click on one or more teeth to view their related details, such as Completed Treatments, Inactive Conditions, Active Conditions, etc.
- You can also view Active Conditions in descending order when you hover over a tooth.
Molars and premolars have additional surfaces for surface-level treatments performed on a portion of the occlusal surface.
- Supernumerary teeth are now represented with a smaller tooth adjacent to the main tooth.
- Extractions made on supernumerary teeth are marked with an extraction draw type on the smaller teeth.
- To view created care notes, select the Notes tab.
- To view related documents of treatments, such as a treatment plan, select the Documents tab.
| Note: The treatments and conditions marked on teeth in the odontogram remain displayed while you select the Notes or Documents tab. |
- The Fee Estimates of the added treatment codes will be displayed by default.
- To hide the Fee, uncheck the Show Fees Estimate checkbox.
If you need to view the sum of the Total Fee, Discount, and Patient Payable of specific codes.
- Select the desired codes to view the details below.
Right-Click Actions on Treatments and Conditions

When you right-click on a treatment code, you can perform the following actions:
- Change Statuses: Mark the treatment as Proposed, Accepted, Alternative, Rejected, or Completed.
- Referred Out & Referred Out Completed: Mark the treatment code to be referred out to another practice.
- Delete: Delete the treatment code.
- Link to Clinical Case: Link the treatment code to an existing or a new clinical case.
- Copy to Tx Plan: Create a duplicate and copy the treatment code to an existing or a new treatment plan.
- Move to Tx Plan: Move the treatment code to a treatment plan.
- Add to Phase: Add the treatment code to a phase of an intended treatment plan.
- Add or Delink to Appointment: Add or remove the treatment code to or from an existing appointment.
- Add or Delink from Clipboard: Add or remove the treatment code to/from the clipboard.
- Apply Membership Fee: Apply the membership fee to the treatment.
- Apply Discount: Apply discounts to the treatment.
- Link to Payment Plan: Link the treatment code to an active payment plan.
- Mark as n/a: Mark the treatment as not applicable.
- Print: Print details of the treatment code.
- Merge: Merge the treatment code with another code.
Changing Status from Planned to Complete
- When you change the treatment status of a tooth from Planned to Complete.
- You will see the affected tooth with the Completed Treatments portrayed visually.
- Extracted and missing teeth will have their treatments hidden.
Active & Inactive Conditions
- Another feature of the odontogram allows you to see the history of the tooth if a condition has been marked as Inactive.
When you Mark As Inactive, the condition will no longer show on the dental chart, but you will see the condition history as Inactive Condition.

Let's explore the different tools from the floating toolbar on the Tooth Chart.
- Refer to the image below for a quick reference to the icons on the floating toolbar.
1. Toolbox
- The toolbox is used for the 3D view. It has 4 options.
| 1. Select: Select this tool to use the mouse pointer to click on items as usual. | |
| 2. Draw: Select this tool to draw on the tooth chart. Users can mark the teeth by drawing around them as needed. | |
| 3. Colour Chart: Change the colour of the Draw tool here. | |
| 4. Erase: Select this tool to erase the drawings on the tooth chart. |

2. Legend
- Click on the Legend icon to see how teeth appear on the tooth chart for different Conditions, Treatments, Materials, Tooth Chart Colours, and CDT Categories.

3. Dentition
- Use the Dentition tool to sort the teeth view by Permanent, Primary, or Unerupted dentition.
- The three different options on the Dentition tool are:
- Change all to Primary: Select this option to view the primary arrangement of teeth.
- Change all to Permanent: Select this option to view the permanent dentition of the patient.
- Change all to Unerupted: Select this option to view unerupted teeth.
4. Toggle Dimension
- Click the Toggle Dimension icon to change the teeth view to 2D or 3D.
Note: 2D or 3D Charts will remain unchanged during user login or logout, retaining the user's preference. |

5. Print
- Click the Print icon to print the currently selected view on the tooth chart.
6. Grid View
- Click the Grid View icon to change the view of the grid below the tooth chart.
- The three different views are as follows.
- Normal: Line items in the dental grid that are displayed without colour coding.
- Procedure Code (CDT): Line items in the dental grid that are colour-coded according to their respective CDT categories.
- Treatment Status (STS): Line items in the dental grid that are colour-coded according to their respective treatment statuses.
7. Notes Mode
- Click the Notes Mode icon to change the mode of notes linked to the chart.
- The two different modes are as follows.

Normal Mode: Notes linked to the code are automatically prompted for review.
- You can choose to save as a draft or finalise the note.
- Burst Mode: Notes linked to the code are saved as drafts in the grid below instead of being prompted.

8. Draw Type View

Click this option to quickly switch views that display the Selected Treatment Plan or all Conditions or Treatments of the patient as required. This option will only be available if you select the Tx Plan (Treatment Plan) tab and select a treatment plan.
