Let's check out how to add health insurance to a patient's profile.

There are two touchpoints to add or update health insurance details to a patient profile.
Patient Overview
To add insurance,
- Search for the patient using the Global Search Bar.
- Click Add Insurance from the Patient Overview page.
| Note: You can add multiple insurance plans by navigating back to the Add Insurance option later on when needed. |
On the Add Insurance modal,
- Enter the required details regarding the insurance:
- Insurance Name: Enter the name of the insurance provider.
- Membership No.: Enter the membership number provided by the insurance provider.
- Patient IRN: Enter the patient's IRN (Individual Reference Number).
- Plan Validity: Enter the start and end date of the plan's validity.
- Notes: Enter any notes related to the insurance plan.
- Click Save.
To update an insurance plan of a patient,
- Click on the three dotted menu for the corresponding insurance.
- Click Edit.
- Make the required changes on the Update Insurance modal.
- Click Save.
To delete an insurance from the patient,
- Click on the three dotted menu for the corresponding insurance.
- Click Delete.
| Tip: Once you add a note for an insurance, you can view it by clicking on the Note icon. |
Appointment Slide-Out
You can add or update insurance details for a patient on the Appointment Slide-Out for a new or existing booking.
| Tip: You can add up to three insurance plans for a patient. |
- Locate the Insurance section on the left side.
- To add insurance, click +Add.
On the Add Insurance modal,
- Enter the required details regarding the insurance:
- Insurance Name: Enter the name of the insurance provider.
- Membership No.: Enter the membership number provided by the insurance provider.
- Patient IRN: Enter the patient's IRN (Individual Reference Number).
- Plan Validity: Enter the start and end date of the plan's validity.
- Notes: Enter any notes related to the insurance plan.
- Click Save.
To update any insurance plan of a patient from the Appointment Slide-Out,
- Click on the desired Insurance Plan hyperlink.
- Make the required changes on the Update Insurance modal.
- Click Save.
