The KPIs under Insights work based on the Insights Settings configuration. Let's explore how to configure Insights Settings.

Follow the steps below to get started.
- Navigate to the System Menu > select any of the modules under Insights.
- Click Settings.
- There are three sections that come under Settings, namely Aging, Metric Setup and New Patient Code.
Under the Aging section, you can view the Aging settings configured for your practice. These settings cannot be edited.
- Compute Adjustment’s Aging based on: The criteria on which the aging is calculated on the aging report. The options are either Original Code or Balance Creation. Use Balance Creation to count the age of adjustments (add to patient/insurance adjustments) separately from the original code.
- Show Treatment Procedure from: The date of the displayed treatment procedure. The options are either the Date of Treatment (DOS) or the Checkout Date/Transaction Date.

Under the Metric Setup section, you can configure different metrics.
Firstly, we have the Treatment Acceptance settings.
- To edit treatment acceptance settings, click Edit.
- Make the required changes to the following fields:
- Calculate Treatment Acceptance On: Select Code Status or By Appointment as the treatment acceptance factor.
- Set up presented code status: Select the suitable code status(es) to signify as Presented.
- Set up accepted code status: Select the suitable code status(es) to signify as Accepted.
- Exclude Selected Codes: Select code(s) to be excluded from the treatment acceptance.
- Click Save.
To configure what the system should consider as a patient visit,
- Select Patient Visits.
- Click Edit.
- Under Count as Patient Visit when, choose one of the following:
- Code Completion,
- Check out Appt. (Appointment), or
- Both (If the code is completed or the appointment is checked out, it will be considered a patient visit).
- If you have selected Code Completion or Both, you have the option to Exclude Selected Codes.
- Click Save.
To configure Hygiene Visits,
- Select Hygiene Visits.
- Click Edit.
- You can find the Setup Hygiene Visit based on Codes and Production Type option.
Note: Hygiene Visit Metrics and Hygiene Visit List in the Performance Dashboard are based on the Hygiene Codes/Production Types configured here. |
- Select the required Codes or Production Types.
- Click Save.
Under New Patient Code, you can view the setting that determines which procedure codes qualify a patient as ‘New’ within your practice.
- Depending on your practice configuration, the setup will display one of the following:
- Specific Code: e.g., New Patient Code: 011
- Specific Set of Codes: e.g., New Patient Code: 011, 012, 013
- Any Code: e.g., New Patient Code: Any Code
