1. Dentition Can Now Be Customised by Age
a. Practices can now Customise Dentition by age, a feature especially helpful for Orthodontics and Oral Surgery.
- Custom dentitions take priority, and if none are set, the system uses the default dentition.
- Users can access the Dentition configuration only if the View, Add/Edit, and Delete permissions are enabled for the user’s profile in Practice Settings.

2. Set Up Maximum Discount Limit for Treatments
a. Practice owners can now control the Maximum Discount that can be applied to treatments with the newly introduced ‘Discount Settings’ in Practice Settings → Fee Tables.
- You can configure Maximum Discount limit and Prevent Reducing Fee for Codes at the Account level or choose to override them at the Location level.
- Users can access the Discount configuration only if the Add/Edit Discounts permission is enabled for the user’s profile in Practice Settings.
Check out the tutorial for a complete walkthrough.
3. Improved User Experience with Care Notes
- We have enhanced the Care Note slide-up experience. Now, when a user saves a care note as a draft or finalises it, the slide-up will automatically close, eliminating the need to manually click the close button.
1. Streamlined Workflow for Settled Payments
- Previously, when a payment was Marked as Settled in the All Payments page, it no longer appeared on the list, requiring the user to manually locate and post it. Now, with the dedicated Apply button, posting a payment to the desired invoice(s) has been made easier.
1. Add and Assign Non-Patients
- Non-patients (e.g., guardians or additional parents) can now be added directly to the system. Before this, only Responsible Parties could be added as non-patients.
2. Assign Patients or Non-Patients as Authorised Contact
a. You can now add an Authorised Contact to any patient to receive copies of campaign messages, which can be patients or non-patients within the family. This ensures that the important information is not missed and they reach the right family members and guardians.
Note: For dependents without contact information, messages go to the Responsible Party, with copies sent to the Authorised Contact.
3. Mark a Patient as Dependent
-
Practices can now Mark a Patient as Dependent when creating their profile, allowing the system to identify them as either a Responsible Party or a Dependent. This enables the system to clearly assign financial responsibility, communication handling, and patient portal access appropriately.
4. Extended ‘Family Concept’ for Online Appointments and Membership Discounts
Previously, under the Account Summary, the Responsible Party (RP) could view and act on all communications for dependents and access their data via the Patient Portal and Kiosk. However, this setup did not accommodate independent adult members who wanted privacy while remaining as part of a family.
CareStack now introduces the Family Concept, allowing practices to link independent patients as family members while maintaining privacy. With this feature, users can:
- Link independent patients from Patient Overview or Add/Edit Patient slide-out.
- Allow patients to book online appointments for any linked family member.
- Extend Membership Discounts to all linked family members, with flexibility for practices to override.
Watch the tutorial to learn more.
5. Touchpoints to View Family or All Linked Members
a. To facilitate informed decision-making during Scheduling, Communication, Clinical Care, and RCM operations, users can now view family or linked members of the account in the following key areas:
- Patient Snapshot
- Patient Top Card
b. Labels will be displayed for each member indicating whether they are a Responsible Party, Dependent, or just a Family Member.
1. Capture Marketing Consent in Online Appointment Portal and Kiosk
- In line with data privacy regulations, CareStack's Online Appointment Portal and Kiosk now include a checkbox to capture marketing consent during bookings. This will be reflected across all registration flows to ensure explicit patient consent is captured, allowing practices to send marketing emails based on patient preferences.
2. Appointment Confirmations Enhanced for Multi-Slot Bookings
- Previously, confirmation emails for multi-slot online bookings were sent to the Responsible Party of the booking patient. To improve communication, confirmation emails are now sent only to the Patient who made the booking.
1. View Patient Postal Code in Opportunity Miner
- In addition to the existing Responsible Party’s Postal Code, we have introduced the option to include the Patient's Postal Code in the available columns of Opportunity Miner. This allows practices to view patient’s postal code information directly when generating a list.
1. Hover Over an Appointment Tile to View Referral Sources
- Hover over an Appointment Tile to see the primary and additional Referral Sources.
1. Additional Information in Barcodes for Compliance
a. To meet ADA standards and compliance requirements, Barcodes now display additional cycle related information alongside the serial number when a batch ID is selected.
- Steriliser Name
- Batch ID
- Date of Sterilisation
- Date of Expiry
Note: If the Batch ID is not selected, the barcode print will exclude the additional information mentioned above.
