10.37 comes with even more improvements; read on to explore everything that's new!
1. Flexible Mapping for Recalls by Production Type
a. Previously, recalls linked to a single production type were missed when a patient's appointment was booked under a different production type. Now, when you set up a Recall, you can link it to multiple production types, increasing control and flexibility for scheduling.
b. The new Recall Production Type field lets you set a production type for the recall appointment, ensuring it is linked and scheduled correctly even when appointments use different production types.
2. Operatory Production Value Hidden for Restricted Profiles
The Operatory Production Value can now be hidden using the View Production Value permission under Scheduling, enabling practices to restrict visibility for selected user profiles.
3. Automatic Provider Update on Appointment Rescheduling
a. The provider will now automatically update when you drag and drop an appointment to reschedule it to another operatory, reflecting the provider assigned to that operatory at the scheduled time.
- In case there are multiple providers in the destination operatory, the appointment slide-out will appear, where you can select the required provider.
4. Book Recalls Easily from the Clipboard
Recalls can be easily booked from the Clipboard using Find Slot, which now automatically applies the recall due date, so you don’t have to select the appointment date manually.
5. Patient-Specific History in the Missed Appointment Modal
The Missed Appointment modal now displays patient-specific values for Cancellations (by Patient and Practice), No Shows, and Reschedules, instead of the account values, allowing for more accurate decisions based on the patient’s own history.
5. Introducing Healthengine Integration
-
CareStack now integrates with Healthengine, Australia's leading appointment booking platform, offering a real-time, two-way sync for seamless online booking. This integration significantly expands your online visibility, ensures accurate, real-time appointment availability, and automates the booking flow directly into CareStack.

1. Streamlined Procedure Code Handling During Checkout
Previously, procedure codes linked to an appointment that were not completed were delinked from the appointment during checkout. Now, you can choose the codes to be marked as Completed or delinked, eliminating extra steps. Key details to know:
- All procedure codes that are not in Completed status will be displayed in the Checkout Confirmation screen.
- All codes are selected by default, allowing users to quickly proceed without additional steps.
- Selected codes will be automatically marked as Completed once the checkout is confirmed.
- Users can unselect codes as needed; these codes will be delinked from the appointment during checkout.
2. Perio Probing Now Uses the Most Recent Tooth Condition
- Perio probing now accurately reflects a tooth's most recent clinical state. By ignoring outdated conditions (such as pontics or impacted teeth), this update resolves previous issues with implant probing and ensures accurate charting for recently modified teeth.
1. Templates Now Grouped by Purpose for Direct and Bulk Communication
a. Templates are now grouped by purpose, so it is easier to find the right type quickly.
- Direct: Patient and Appointment templates are now combined into Direct Templates, making it easier to manage and use templates for individual patient communication.
-
Bulk: Available for bulk communication across Opportunity Miner, Recalls List, Reschedule Queue, and Short Call List.
- Bulk message templates can now be easily managed in Practice Settings → Templates.
2. Enhancements to Quick Links in Messages and Templates
a. Quick links now appear based on what is relevant to the message you are sending across Messages and Templates. For example, quick links related to appointments will not be available in bulk messaging or non-appointment campaigns, as there is no associated appointment.
b. Additional quick links are now available, allowing you to include more information in your messages.
- Prefix and suffix quick links under Patient and Provider categories are available across applicable areas for consistent personalisation.
- A new quick link, Today’s Date, has been introduced in Direct and Bulk Messaging templates, automatically inserting the current date for same-day updates, confirmations, and time-sensitive announcements without manual edits.
- The Total Payment Plan Amount quick link has been added to Payment Plan Reminder campaigns to help clearly communicate the overall payment plan value alongside the Total Amount Due.
c. Practice Settings → Templates now use Account-level and Location-level quick links in place of Business-level quick links, ensuring communications reflect relevant practice information.
3. Identify Inactive Patients Instantly
- You can now see an Inactive label next to inactive patients in key areas like the Global Search Bar, Patient Snapshot, Family and Patient Overview, allowing you to identify inactive members without opening their profile.
4. Confirmation Added for ‘Print and Sign’ on Medical History Forms
- You will now see a confirmation message after clicking Print and Sign on a Medical History Form, ensuring you do not accidentally complete the form before it is ready.
1. Enhanced Referral Forms for More Control and Clarity
a. Previously, all providers across the practice were displayed on the Referral Form; now, the selection is limited only to the providers associated with the referral location.
- Providers against each location can be managed using the Edit Included Providers option when creating or modifying a Referral Form.
b. ‘Teeth Numbers for Extraction’ has been rephrased as ‘Teeth Numbers’ for clearer understanding across all procedures.
c. If a form has only one location, it will pre-fill automatically, reducing clicks for referral providers. With the new setting, ‘First Available Provider’ can be selected from the Provider dropdown, simplifying referrals when a provider isn’t specified.
d. To improve the accuracy of the Referral Effectiveness Report, the Referral Provider's email will be required on Referral Forms when the 'Referral Provider email' setting is enabled.
1. Payment Log Report Now Shows Refunds By Refund Date
- Refunds are now reflected in the Summary and Collection Views of the Payment Log Report based on the refund date, ensuring they are reflected on the actual date they were processed.
- When run by Payment Date, this ensures a more accurate Net Collection and smoother day-to-day reconciliation.
