CareStack proudly introduces the 10.22 release, bringing enhancements to improve efficiency and user satisfaction. This update brings significant improvements across multiple modules including Front Office, Clinical, Revenue Cycle Management, Reporting, and Patient Services & Engagement.
This update introduces key enhancements to the Appointment Slider for better visibility of appointment related information. The Referral Hub has also been upgraded, offering the ability to print attachments, book or view accepted referrals, quickly add new referral providers, and a new setting to enable email trigger settings for referral providers.
Patient Engagement enhancements include the ability to upload images directly into Email Templates, a new quick link in the Patient Snapshot, and support for special characters in the Medical Alert Category name.
What’s more, the Reporting module has several changes including a payment plans filter in Opportunity Miner, a new metric in Scorecards, an adjustment amount operator in the Adjustments Report displayed as text, an option to clear all filters in Opportunity Miner, and the exclusion of special credits from the Income Allocation Report.

1. Reschedule Queue
- You can now filter items in the Reschedule Queue to show patients with or without Future Appointments.
- Generate a Print of the Reschedule Queue or Short Call List, maintaining the same order with the applied filter and sort criteria.
- Sort items in the Reschedule Queue and Short Call List by Appointment Date & Time in either newest to oldest or oldest to newest order, based on preference.
2. Landing Page
- Introduced the option to set either the Front Office Dashboard or the Scheduler as the Default Landing Page when a practice user logs in. Click the CareStack logo from any page to access the default landing page.
3. Appointment Slider
The information in the left panel has been structured in the preferred order of relevance and optimized, reducing the vertical scroll and improving the overall user experience.
- The Operatory and Location have been repositioned to the top, enhancing the visibility of the Start Time, End Time, and Duration without scrolling.
- The Patient Card has been redesigned to display all essential details, including the patient’s name, date of birth, patient ID, age, gender, phone number, and email.
- Utilize the quick links to navigate to the Patient Overview, Edit Patient Details, and view Linked Members on the patient’s account.
- Collapsible sections in the left panel will expand only when relevant data is available.
- Each section on the left panel now displays the count of items present.
- Lab Cases now include detailed information such as tooth, shade, lab cost, and lab case notes, along with Received, Due, and Sent dates.
1. Chart
- The ability to link a completed code to an appointment has been extended to the Care Panel and the +Code option in the Chart.
- Treatments and Conditions marked in the Odontogram will remain displayed on the Documents and Notes tab.
- Introducing the Referred Out and Referred Out Completed options with a right click on a code.
2. Treatment Planner
- Ability to sort grouped treatments on the Treatment Planner from Newest to Oldest and vice versa.
3. Refer Out
- Introduced a new setting to enable email trigger settings for Referral Providers at a practice level.
1. Payment Plan Control Centre
- The Next Payment Amount and Next Payment Date columns on the Payment Plan Control Center page have been separated, and now include the option to sort from newest to oldest or vice versa.
1. Forms
- When adding a form to a patient that requires an appointment to be linked, future appointments will appear at the top of the appointment picker.
2. Online Appointments
- Enhanced slot availability logic now supports non-standard appointment times, ensuring valid slots are no longer skipped. All available time slots that fit the production type’s duration will be displayed even if they start at non-standard intervals.
- Introduced a Location filter on the Potential Patients tab of the Online Appointments page. You can also choose to filter patients with No Location if needed.
- A new section called 'Online Appointment' has been added to separately manage permissions for the Online Appointment Hub and Online Appointment Settings.
3. Patient Connect
- Users can choose to mark Email as mandatory or non-mandatory to be displayed on the Kiosk Mode.
- Users can add or update the insurance information of a patient from Patient Connect. The updated insurance information will be reflected in the system.
4. Patient Portal
- To avoid data loss, a warning popup will appear if a form is left unsaved in the patient portal, prompting the user to take appropriate action. The options include Cancel, Leave Without Saving, or Save.

1. Email Template
- Easily Insert Images into an Email Template directly from your system as a .PNG, .JPG, or .JPEG file.
2. Patient Snapshot
- Introduced a quick link on the Patient Snapshot to navigate to the patient's Appointments page.
3. Medical Alerts
- Users can now add special characters to the name of a Medical Alert Category.
4. Add/Edit Patient Slider
- Introduced a broader selection of titles to precede patient names.
- Easily update Mobile, Address, Email, and Additional Contact Information for all Family Members of an account together in one go if needed.
- Ability to enable or disable Marketing Emails for promotional campaigns.
1. Opportunity Miner
- Utilise the Payment Plans filter on the Opportunity Miner with Payment Plan Type, Payment Plan Status, and Transaction Status criteria.
2. Scorecards
- You can use the Walkout Retention% metric on Scorecards which analyses the number of patients who have left the appointment and have a future appointment.
3. Adjustments Report
- The Adjustment Amount operator options in the Adjustments Report are now displayed as text instead of special characters.
4. Trend Analysis
- Added a 'Clear All' button which allows users to quickly deselect all selected metrics in Trend Analysis, eliminating the need to manually uncheck each one.
5. Income Allocation Report
- To ensure more accurate data, users can now choose to exclude or include special credits from applied payments and advance payments in the Income Allocation report.
1. Referral Hub
- Ability to select and Print one or all attachment(s) of a Referral.
- Book new appointments or View booked appointments for Accepted referrals.
- Attachments of Accepted referrals will be reflected on the Patient Documents page in Completed status.
- Quickly add a new Referral Provider while you create a new referral.
